With half term approaching, many of you might be heading away for a UK get-a-way. I don’t know about you, but just having a different view for a couple of days would be very welcome right now!
A couple of days in the UK…. what on earth do you pack? All seasons in one day springs to mind… let’s not even compare May 2021 weather with the gorgeous heat we were enjoying throughout May 2020!
Here are a few ideas for building yourself a capsule get-a-way collection.
We’ll start with getting ourselves out of jeans for a change - nothing wrong with jeans at all by the way but many clients have said to me recently, I’m sick of being in my jeans, what is a good alternative?
The amazing FRANSA ‘Tokyo’ trousers are a brilliant alternative to our jeans. Available in Navy and Tan colourways, they are a great neutral to any wardrobe. A cotton mix with that all important elastane for a comfortable fit, they can be dressed up or down. I’m taking a casual approach here but an quick change of footwear and swapping out the t-shirt for a blouse will transform these outfits to a slightly more dressed up look.
I’ve teamed the trousers with the Sugarhill ‘Love’ tshirt as it’s an easy top to wear and a great layer for if, I mean, WHEN, the sun shines! Alternatively, for the chillier day, the Great Plains striped 3/4 sleeve t-shirt is perfect.
The key to summer dressing in the UK, is layering… so to add a layer of warmth, I have selected this white denim jacket also from Fransa. White denim is a summer must have and this jacket will not only team with many tops but will last you for years. If you prefer a colour other than white, this stunning pink denim jacket from Joules would work super well.

And finally, just because you’re not at home, doesn’t mean you can’t add a bit of glam too, so an easy to wear pair of gold hoops will give you that finishing touch.
